So the last time I tried doing NaNoWriMo was in 2011, where I literally tapped out after 2K words. But here’s the thing: I literally need to finish my Kabanata novel by the first of December, because I received a creative work grant from the university that allowed me to teach fewer classes this semester. So, haha, I now have not only the deadline that I sorta kinda asked for, but now I literally have to account for it at the end of the semester.
To be fair, I have about 20K words in the bank already, as well as a freakishly detailed outline (thanks, Past Me!) as well as the guilt that this should have been done in 2015. To be fair, though – 2015 was a pretty shit year for me, what with scrambling with preparations for the tenure lecture plus the crazy Asian Festival for Children’s Content schedule and prep that spilled over into this year, plus a lot of other deadlines that I was trying to sort out and meet.
If you want to follow my progress, you can check out my NaNo page or add me as a Writing Buddy. Either way, here’s crossing my fingers that I get to the end of this draft by the end of November.
Thank you forr sharing this
