Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously

I’m in the middle of checking 56 exams by tonight, but I was just struck with the thought that, despite everything I do, I’ll still have something strange said about me and my work. (I won’t say they’re negative, because my first reaction when I read them was to laugh out loud.)

So just to share, a couple of the strangest reactions/reviews I’ve ever received in my line of work:

• As a teacher: “Wag. Nakakalunod. Tangina lang.” – Anonymous student from English 10
• As a writer: “The best thing in this book is the cover design.” – from a Goodreads review of my book, Instructions on How to Disappear.
